A coroner has revealed that Greece right-back George Baldock drowned more than five hours before his body was found
in a swimming pool in Athens on Wednesday night. Initial
autopsy results confirmed that the cause of death was drowning, and an autopsy at Athens University Hospital believes Baldock died in the pool five hours before he was found.
Police said it could be weeks or months before the full autopsy and toxicology results are available.
A half-full bottle of vodka and two glasses were found next to the pool where the incident occurred. Officers initially tried to determine if there were other people present, but have
since ruled out any criminal activity.
Local media claim Baldock’s fiancee, ยูฟ่าเบท http://ufabet999.app who lives in England, tried to contact her boyfriend but was unable to and became concerned.
She then notified the homeowner in the Gryfada area to come and inspect the house.
The homeowner rushed to the house, climbed over the fence and found Baldock submerged at the bottom of the pool.
“We are devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved George,” Baldock’s family said in a statement.
“We can confirm that following a post-mortem examination, George drowned while swimming in his home pool in Glyfada, Athens.”
