
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been named a FIFPro Impact Player of the Year for his humanitarian work in his homeland of Cameroon and the African continent.
The 28-year-old has set up a foundation that provides free health care. And surgical operations to people in impoverished communities in Africa.
Doctors working with the Andre Onana Foundation have carried out more than 1,200 surgeries in the past three years. FIFPro said in a statement announcing the award.

Onana becomes a United player He is the second player to receive the award, following Marcus Rashford, who was awarded the prize for his work in distributing school meals to disadvantaged children in England in 2020.
FIFPro, the professional footballers’ union, has donated $10,000 to Onana’s organization, which won the award.
